We accidentally stumbled across this shop and Holy Cow glad we did! This stuff beats the daylights out of any fruit smoothie. I got the Island Bowl that has granola, papaya, strawberry, coconut flakes and honey all over a base of a frozen Açaí blend. The best combination for a carnivore like me because it is just flat out delicious and healthy. - with no meat! This stuff is even Gluten free for those with that need. Pricing might seem a bit steep at first, but the product quickly proves it to be worth it. I see this as a fruit version of poutine, just a nice combination of fruit chunks with an Açaí base that thaws quickly and stirs well. This little shop is tucked away with a bunch of others, but definitely worth looking for. Outside seating is available as well.

Kona Wave was not too busy as I was able to just walk right up and order early this morning. It's amongst many little shops. I got the island bowl with no coconut flakes as I do not like coconut. My acai bowl was made quickly. I've never had an acai bowl with papaya before and it was not only beautifully colorful it was refreshingly delicious! I would definitely come back if I ever find myself in Kona.

Stayed at the King Kamehameha Hotel and directly across the street is this life saver called Kona Wave Cafe. It was hot and sunny in Kona and needed to stay cool. Also was feeling hungry but didnt want to have a full meal. This is where an açai bowl fits in perfect. Small little spot with some outdoor seating. Walked inside and they have a small menu that i think is just right for this place. Decided on their Monkey Bowl which is their signature açai blend, topped with granola, bananas, almond, honey and peanut butter. This is one of the best things I ate in Hawaii. So delicious, cold, flavorful, and healthy. It is a large amount of everything and filled to the top and drizzled with goodness. This is not only just a snack, but could be for breakfast or lunch or dinner if you are feeling like getting something healthy and not wanting a full meal at a restaurant. You can sit at the cafe to enjoy, walk around the shops, or go sit down at the ocean break wall or sit on the beach at the King Kamehameha hotel. I highly recommend to try this place and all the different types of açai bowls their offer. There is something for everyone.

Great acai bowls. I got the monkey bowl with strawberries added and it was tasty. Every acai bowl is going to be great because they just assemble it and no one is actually making the ingredients. I would assume every acai bowl in Kona is great. But add this one to the list. Staff was friendly but it's an order at the counter type place. Very casual. All sitting is outside.

Came here for breakfast cause we were craving acai bowls. This place was right next to the hotel so we thought why not. Man, it was delicious. Fresh fruit, fresh acai, blended well. If you're craving acai make a stop here

Love this little spot...it's hidden behind some building right in the heart of Kailua Kona town but look for the signage! My current favorite Acai bowl place. Try the Acai bowl with peanut butter . Friendly employees, quick service. There are some tables right out the front to sit at or benches on the side of the shop. No AC but you can grab your order and then walk over to the ocean. It's not far!

It's your typical Açaí bowl place. Was helped right away. They loaded up the bowl. Ingredients tasted fresh. Wasn't as sweet as other places. It does the job, but I've had better.

Acai Monkey, highly recommend. I absolutley love peanut butter in my acai so this was great! They greeted us and took our orders right away. Thankfully it was a hot day so this was perfect. Lots of seating outside and near the beach. Definitely worth the walk and experience with all these near by shops.
